Get started
Step 1. Create a Google Takeout
To transfer your library from Google Photos to Synology Photos, you first create a Google Takeout, which lets you safely download all your photos and videos in one place for easy transfer.
Go to the takeout.google.com and follow the instructions from the video.
Wait for the takeout request completion email before proceeding to the next step.
Step 2. Launch the migration tool on Synology
The DataAlpaca migration tool takes only one minute to launch and doesn't require installing any software.
Go to your Synology DSM. If you don't know your URL, visit finds.synology.com.
Set up and run the user-defined script:
curl -fsSL https://dataalpaca.com/run_google_photos_to_synology.sh | bash
Once completed, the migration tool will be available on a port 5815 in the browser.
Step 3. Start migration
Go to website on a port 5815 in the browser.
Follow the instruction to fill up the migration details and start the process.
